In the early seventies, Pro Stock was Drag Racing’s fastest growing competition category because of it’s popularity with the fans.
The Bill Jenkins Grumpy’s Toy Camaro was one of the most popular.
In the July 1970 issue of Hot Rod Magazine “Grumpy’s Toy VIII” was un-veiled to the world in a four-page tech feature article written by famed automotive writer Bud Lang. *
With the help of his “Super crew”, he was again at the top of the Pro Stock class running the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds at 145mph.
